I live in a rural area and don't have the opportunity to get tested in person. How can I get tested?
No problem! We will mail you the sampling package, and the sample can be returned to the Microbiome Center lab by mail. The consultation is also available online, so the entire process can be completed from home.
I want the test for my child – is this possible?
Of course, microbiome testing is also available for children.
Can I order the test only without the analysis?
This is possible, but it is important to know that without a professional interpretation of the analysis, it is difficult for a layperson to extract useful information from it. Therefore, we always recommend consulting an expert.
I am on a diet - can I still take the test?
Yes, it is, in fact, recommended. Various diets – such as gluten-free, metabolic, autoimmune, FODMAP, ketogenic, vegetarian or vegan – can affect the balance of the gut flora. It is worth mapping the state of the microbiome at the beginning of the diet so that you can properly monitor changes.
Can I take steroids or antibiotics during the test?
The test can be performed if you are taking steroids. However, after a course of antibiotics, it is advisable to perform the test as soon as possible, but after the treatment has ended.
Is microbiome testing recommended for children?
Yes, it is especially recommended for skin problems, behavioral disorders, sensory sensitivity, ADHD, learning difficulties, social behavior disorders, digestive complaints or autism spectrum disorder.
When will I receive the test results?
The results will be ready within approximately 10 working days of receiving the sample and will be uploaded to the lab's web interface. You will be notified by email at the address you provided in the nutritional questionnaire. It is then worth making an appointment for a specialist consultation as soon as possible.
How will the sample package reach me?
The sampling kit can be collected in person at Villa Medicina or delivered by courier to the address you provide. The courier will need a telephone number of a receiving party so that they can contact you if necessary.
How much time do I have to submit the sample?
The stability of the sample is ensured by the buffer solution in the sampling tube, so you don't have to worry about it deteriorating in quality. The sample can be safely returned even from another continent.
What does the expert consultation include?
During the consultation, our experts will present the results step by step, clearly explaining the connections between them. The recommendations are based on the latest scientific research and thousands of analysis experiences, in close cooperation with the biologists of the Microbiome Center's lab. At the end of the process, you will also receive specific solution suggestions, for example regarding probiotics, prebiotics or other support options.
