September 29 is World Heart Day, which aims to call for the prevention of cardiovascular (circulation) diseases.
Based on WHO statistics, and according to the estimates of the Central Statistics Office in Hungary as well, cardiovascular disease are among the most common causes of death, including acute myocardial infarction and chronic ischemic heart disease.
Research has proven that life-threatening acute events (stroke, heart attack) and certain chronic conditions (heart failure, high blood pressure) with unhealthy, sedentary lifestyle, improper diet, obesity, smoking and other with health problems (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, chronic stress, anxiety, depression).
A significant part of the development of cardiovascular diseases can be prevented with a healthy diet, quitting smoking, and exercising more. , with lifestyle changes, and with regular screening tests.
The World Heart Federation, founded in 1998, has been organizing the Day of Our Hearts around the world since 2000 on this day, where for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and the treatment following the disease draws attention to >healing, rehabilitation with various lectures, blood donation, and screening tests.
